Acts 25:13-28:31: Paul’s Final Defense and Witness in Rome
Saint Mariana de Paredes Parish warmly invites you to our bi-weekly English Bible Study as we continue our journey through the Acts of the Apostles.
In Session Nineteen, we walk with Saint Paul through the final stretch of his missionary journey, from a bold defense before King Agrippa to a perilous voyage that carries him, in chains, to the heart of the Roman Empire. Paul stands before a king who himself wrestles with belief, declaring with calm conviction that he speaks “words of truth and reason.” Refused justice in Caesarea, he invokes his right as a Roman citizen and appeals to Caesar, setting in motion a journey that will plant the Gospel in Rome itself. Through storms, shipwreck on Malta, and a viper’s strike that does him no harm, God’s providence sustains Paul at every turn. Arriving at last in Rome under house arrest, he preaches the Kingdom of God “with all boldness and without hindrance,” the closing words of the Acts of the Apostles. As we conclude this series, this session invites us to ask: where is God sending us, and will we trust that even storms and chains can become the very means by which the Gospel goes forward?
We especially welcome:
