Getting Ready for Confession
Before
Pray — invite God to open your heart. Reflect — look back on your actions and attitudes; an Examination of Conscience (USCCB) is a helpful tool.
During
Confess your sins aloud — the priest is there to listen, guide, and extend the mercy of Jesus. Receive your penance, make an Act of Contrition, and receive absolution — God’s healing grace.
After
Celebrate the moment of reconciliation — you are cherished by our Heavenly Father. Commit — follow through on your penance and carry His tenderness into the world.
