Acts 22:1-25:12: Paul Makes His Defense
Saint Mariana de Paredes Parish warmly invites you to our bi-weekly English Bible Study as we continue our journey through the Acts of the Apostles.
In Session Eighteen, we witness Saint Paul on trial — before a hostile crowd, the Sanhedrin, and Roman governors. Standing in chains, Paul does what he has always done: he tells his story. He recounts his encounter with Christ on the Damascus road, declares the resurrection as the heart of his faith, and boldly proclaims that the Way is the fulfillment of everything God promised through the Law and the Prophets. When forty men swear an oath to kill him, God works through an unlikely hero — Paul’s young nephew — to save his life. Through two years of unjust imprisonment under Governor Felix and a new trial before Festus, Paul never wavers. Finally, he exercises his right as a Roman citizen and utters the words that will carry him to Rome: “I appeal to Caesar!” This session challenges us to consider: when God calls us to bear witness, will we have the courage to speak?
We especially welcome:
