Our Story, Pastor by Pastor
Fr. Herve M. Trebaol · Founding Pastor
A native Angeleno, Fr. Trebaol founded the parish and led it for twenty-one years, overseeing construction of both the church and the school — and serving as an Army chaplain in World War II. He passed away in 1971 at age 69, leaving a lasting legacy.
Msgr. Matthew Kelly & Fr. Gerald Maechler
Msgr. Kelly guided the parish for five years, followed by Fr. Maechler, both of Los Angeles. Their tenures, though shorter, left an indelible mark. Both passed away in 2002.
Fr. H. Gerald McSorley · 1981–1993
From County Tyrone, Ireland, Fr. McSorley’s connection began with his ordination here in 1964 — he returned as pastor in 1981.
Fr. Fernando Iglesias · 1993–2003
Fr. Iglesias faithfully served the community for a decade until his retirement.
Fr. David Gallardo · 2003–2015
A native of Santa Monica, Fr. Gallardo served as administrator from 2003 and pastor from 2004 through June 2015.
Fr. Lazaro “Larry” Revilla · 2015–present
Born in the Philippines and raised in the South Bay, Fr. Larry’s pastoral journey began at Saint Mariana — his first assignment upon ordination. Named administrator in 2015 and pastor in July 2016, he leads the parish today alongside Fr. Jorge Soto (Associate) and Fr. Bao Nguyen (In Residence).
