Adult Faith Formation & OCIA
The Office of Adult Faith Formation at Saint Mariana de Paredes Parish is here to assist adult members as they embark on or deepen their faith journey. Under the direction of Moisés R. Vargas, M.S., we provide opportunities for sacramental preparation, spiritual growth, access to educational resources, and fellowship with fellow adults in formation.
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
Formerly known as RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), the OCIA is the process by which adults are welcomed into full communion with the Catholic Church. Whether you are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or a baptized Catholic who has not yet received Confirmation and/or First Eucharist, the OCIA journey is for you.
Our mission is to empower adults within the parish to:
- Receive Full Initiation into the Catholic Church through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).
- Complete the Sacraments of the Catholic Church (Eucharist & Confirmation).
- Understand clearly what it means to be an adult Catholic.
- Become fully active members of our faith community.
- Center their lives in the proclamation of the Gospel.
- Celebrate liturgies meaningfully.
- Witness to their beliefs through acts of charity and service.
Sessions are held throughout the year. Please reach out to begin your journey or to learn more about our adult formation programs.
Please have the following documents and information ready when you register:
CONFIRMATION (ADULT)
- Baptism certificate
- First Communion certificate
- If married, marriage certificate
- If the candidate also needs First Eucharist, the tuition amount is $200.00 and must be paid in full.
OCIA — ALL SACRAMENTS (ADULTS)
- Birth certificate
- If married, marriage certificate
